School Calendar for 2023-2024

The DepEd is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere that supports successful learning while meeting the challenges offered by the constantly changing educational landscape since education is vital in determining the destiny of our country. These new policies demonstrate DepEd’s commitment to the DepEd MATATAG Agenda by harmonizing its aims and objectives with the academic year’s planned activities at the schools. DepEd has recently released the Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year (SY) 2023-2024.

One noteworthy aspect of these restrictions is their conformity to Republic Act (RA) No. 11480, which limits the number of class days from the preceding 200 to no more than 200. As a result, the SY 2023-2024, including the End-of-School-Year (EOSY) Rites, is scheduled to start on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, and end on Friday, June 14, 2024.

The recommendations also cover the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and make sure that its learning interventions are coordinated with the conventional basic education system. These rules also apply to private schools and state/local universities and colleges, placing an emphasis on uniformity and consistency across the educational spectrum.

Stay tuned as we navigate through the key aspects of the Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for SY 2023-2024.
